To my fellow English Majors during finals week:

Friendly reminder that your ideas are solid, you know what you’re doing, and you can and will finish that research paper/lit analysis/creative project.

You can and will finish up any last-minute reading you have to do.

Don’t listen to your friends if they chastise you for not having tests to take. Papers are difficult too, but you can do it.

I believe in you.

I really needed this reassurance. :)

No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.

We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

(Dead Poets Society, 1989)

This is a wonderful quote.
